Actress Mahira Sharma recently gave a lighthearted response when asked about her favorite Indian cricketer during the ongoing 2025 Champions Trophy. The 27-year-old, known for her television roles and stint in Bigg Boss 13, was spotted by the media, who quizzed her about cricket.
A video shared by the popular Instagram page Viral Bhayani captured the moment. Initially caught off guard by the question, Mahira smiled before cleverly replying, “Puri Indian cricket team” (The whole Indian cricket team).

The Indian cricket team has secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 Champions Trophy after back-to-back victories in the group stage. Due to political tensions, India opted to play their matches in Dubai instead of traveling to host nation Pakistan. Despite the change in venue, the Men in Blue delivered dominant performances, clinching six-wicket wins against both Bangladesh and Pakistan. With these results, they confirmed a knockout spot alongside New Zealand, while Pakistan and Bangladesh have been eliminated from Group A.
Led by Rohit Sharma, India will now face New Zealand on Sunday (March 2) to determine the group standings before heading into the semi-finals.
Aakash Chopra Weighs in on Possible Squad Rotation
Cricket expert Aakash Chopra shared his insights on potential team changes for India’s final group-stage clash. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he suggested that veteran pacer Mohammed Shami might be rested in favor of Arshdeep Singh due to the tight match schedule.
“It makes sense to give Shami a break and bring in Arshdeep, considering the quick turnaround between games. Other than that, I don’t foresee any major changes unless an injury forces a switch,” Chopra remarked.
With the knockout rounds beginning on March 4, all eyes will be on India as they aim to maintain their winning momentum.
