India’s Winning Start in the 2025 Champions Trophy

India kicked off their campaign with a commanding victory over Bangladesh. Batting first, Bangladesh managed to post 228 runs on the board, with Towhid Hridoy standing out with a well-compiled century, scoring 100 off 118 balls.

In response, Shubman Gill anchored India’s chase with a brilliant unbeaten knock of 101 off 129 deliveries, guiding the team to victory by six wickets with 21 balls to spare.

Pakistan’s Early Struggles Against India

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan’s skipper Mohammad Rizwan made a strategic change to the lineup, bringing in Imam-ul-Haq to replace the injured Fakhar Zaman, who was ruled out after sustaining an injury in the opening game against New Zealand. India, on the other hand, fielded the same playing XI from their previous match.

Pakistan’s opening duo, Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, got off to a steady start, putting up 37 runs in the first eight overs. However, Hardik Pandya provided India with the breakthrough by dismissing Babar for 23 in the ninth over.

Just an over later, Axar Patel’s sharp fielding effort resulted in Imam-ul-Haq being run out for 10, leaving Pakistan struggling at 47/2 in 9.2 overs.

At the latest update, Rizwan and Saud Shakeel were trying to stabilize the innings, taking Pakistan to 74/2 after 18 overs. Rizwan was batting on 11, while Shakeel had reached 17.
