Bagmati’s Blind Cricket Stars

The Bagmati Province Sports Development Council has announced cash rewards for players from Bagmati Province who are part of Nepal’s national team participating in the ongoing Blind Cricket T20 World Cup in Pakistan.

Dipak Lama, Member Secretary of the Council, stated that four players from Bagmati Province will each be honored with NPR 20,000 for their outstanding performances in the World Cup.

The Bagmati Province players representing Nepal in the Blind Cricket Team are Sagar Lama, Prabin Syangtang, Amish Guragain, and Santa Pahari.

For the first time in history, Nepal reached the semifinals of the Blind Cricket World Cup, marking a significant milestone. Nepal finished fourth in the tournament, which featured six teams.

“These visually impaired players have proven that they can excel in sports. We are honoring them as a token of appreciation for their achievement,” said Dipak Lama.

During the league stage, Nepal defeated Afghanistan and South Africa but lost to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. In the semifinals held on Sunday morning, Nepal faced another defeat against Pakistan.
