In last night’s UEFA Champions League match, English club Liverpool secured a 2-0 victory over former champions Real Madrid.

This was Liverpool’s first win over Real Madrid in 15 years. Before this, Liverpool had failed to defeat Real in 8 matches, including two Champions League finals. However, this time they triumphed comfortably.

Although Mohamed Salah missed a penalty, Liverpool still managed to win thanks to goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo. This victory marks Liverpool’s fifth consecutive win in the Champions League and the only team to maintain a perfect record. Liverpool now tops the group with 15 points from 5 games, while Real Madrid, suffering their third defeat, sits in 24th place with 6 points from the same number of matches.

The match, held at Liverpool’s home ground, ended the first half 0-0. However, Liverpool broke the deadlock in the second half. Mac Allister scored in the 52nd minute to give Liverpool the lead, and Gakpo doubled the advantage in the 76th minute.

Both teams missed penalties during the match. Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe failed to convert in the 61st minute, and Liverpool’s Salah also missed in the 70th minute.
