New Zealand’s Martin Guptill Lands in Kathmandu for NPL

Martin Guptill, the famous New Zealand cricketer, has arrived in Nepal to play for the Biratnagar Kings in the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL), which is set to begin this Saturday.

Guptill arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon. This is his first visit to Nepal, and he was warmly welcomed by the Biratnagar team officials at Tribhuvan International Airport.

Other foreign players representing Biratnagar include Canada’s Nicholas Kirton, Oman’s Aqib Ilyas, Scotland’s Chris Sole, and Ismat Alam.

Earlier today, Nicholas Kirton also arrived in Kathmandu, and coach Kevin O’Brien has already reached Nepal as well.

The marquee player for Biratnagar is Nepal’s leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, who plays for the national team.

Biratnagar will play their opening match against the Janakpur Bolts on November 30.
