Baikuntha Manandhar Appointed Goodwill Ambassador for National 10K Race in Butwal

A national 10,000-meter running competition will be held in Butwal on Fagun 11, and famous Nepali runner and Olympian, Baikuntha Manandhar, has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador for the event. Manandhar, who holds a South Asian Games record, thanked the organizers, Shine Resunga Bank, for appointing him to promote the running culture.

He also encouraged everyone to adopt a daily running habit for better health.

The event, under the slogan “Run to Shine,” will take place in Butwal, Rupandehi. It will feature national athletes competing in three categories: open women, open men, and participants over 50 years old. The total prize money for the event is 500,000 Nepali Rupees.

The winners in the open categories (men and women) will receive 100,000 rupees each. This is the highest prize money ever for a 10-kilometer athletics event in Nepal. The second-place winners will receive 40,000 rupees, third-place winners will get 20,000 rupees, fourth-place winners will earn 15,000 rupees, and fifth-place winners will be awarded 10,000 rupees.

In the local and over-50 categories, winners will receive 15,000 rupees, second place will get 10,000 rupees, third place will earn 5,000 rupees, and fourth place will receive 2,500 rupees, along with medals and certificates.
