Bhutanese national football team captain Chencho Gyeltshen is set to play for Lalitpur City FC in the upcoming Nepal Super League (NSL) 2025.
The defending champions, Lalitpur, have signed the 28-year-old forward, often referred to as the “Bhutanese Ronaldo,” for the third edition of the tournament.
Gyeltshen becomes the team’s third foreign signing, following the acquisition of goalkeeper Jeffrey Baltus and Haitian forward Kervens Belfort.
The winger previously played for Machhindra Football Club in the 2022/23 A-Division League in Nepal, featuring in seven matches and scoring one goal. However, he returned to Bhutan after sustaining an injury.
A key figure in Bhutanese football, Gyeltshen has netted 13 goals for his national team. He has also played in the Indian Super League (ISL) for Kerala Blasters, Bengaluru FC, and Punjab FC.
